We worked for the client Hamilton and Inches on the internal refurbishment of their head office in George Street, Edinburgh.
The building is over several floors and houses the design department, silversmith workshops, goldsmith workshops, the offices and accounts department, and the sales floor.
We were engaged as the Principal Designer (PD) for the contract, overseeing the planning phase and the general health and safety on-site during the works.
We were appointed as the CDM Principal Designer (PD) for the project. Our roles included checking the Principal Contractor’s Construction Phase Plan (CPP) and reviewing the Risk
Assessment and Method Statement (RAMS) and the asbestos removal Plan of Works.
Throughout the project’s period, we carried out monthly audits, which started with the CDM compliance audit and continued with the monthly safety compliance audit.
