Yazan Osaily joined PERSES in November 2020 as the Head of Research and Development. He recently passed his PhD thesis defence, which focused on providing guidelines for managing the constantly arising complexities of demolition projects by taking into consideration the principles of the circular economy. His paper entitled “Exploring the Value of Demolition Contractor Involvement at the Design Stage of Construction” won the best paper award for the Construction Transformation category at ARCOM conference, which highlighted and discussed the role of the demolition industry in the transition towards the circular economy. Yazan’s roles include co-teaching for the Demolition Management degree with the IDE and Wolverhampton University. He also works on improving and developing new courses for the company, as well as providing health and safety consultancy on-sites when appropriate.
