The CCDO Advanced Demolition Operative qualification encompasses all of the roles of the Demolition Refurbishment Operative and also allows for the demolition of load-bearing walls and structures by hand.

As well as significant on-the-job experience, a CCDO Advanced Demolition Operative will have skills training in a range of equipment to undertake demolition works by hand including Safe Oxygen/Fuel Cutting, Working At Height, working to method statements and pre-planned cutting sequences.

The CCDO Advanced Demolition Operative will be coordinated and supervised by either a CCDO Chargehand or CCDO Site Supervisor.

Q: Do I need any experience to obtain this card?
A: Yes, you must have held a Demolition & Refurbishment Operative 5 Year Card and have passed the Level 2 Demolition & Refurbishment NVQ. For direct entry, you must and have 5 years Demolition Industry experience.

Q: Do I need anything prior to attending this course?
A: Yes. You need to hold a current Demolition Specialist or above or a Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Touchscreen Test Pass. You also must hold a current Asbestos Awareness Certificate (as a minimum). Other higher level Asbestos Training will be accepted. You can only obtain your Asbestos Awareness Certificate through NDTG, UKATA, ARCA, or ACAD. E-Learning Certificates are not accepted.

Q: Do I get a certificate or card for completing this course?
A: Yes, the CCDO Advance Demolition Operative is valid for 3 years. This card is non renewable. You must complete an NVQ level 3 within 3 years to convert your red Advance Demolition Operative card to the blue Advance Demolition Operative card.

Q: What do I need do to acheieve my NVQ?
A: You must complete a Level 3 Advanced Demolition Operative (Formerly Topman) NVQ. Once you have obtained this, you can upgrade to a CCDO Advanced Demolition Operative blue card, which is valid for 5 years and is renewable.
