Course Description

The CCDO Demolition Chargehand qualification is for working supervisors who may lead a team of Advance Demolition Operative, Demolition Refurbishment Operatives and Labourers.

They will supervise specific demolition or dismantling tasks and report to the CCDO Demolition Supervisor.

Q: Do I need any experience to obtain this card?
A: Yes, you must have held a blue CCDO Advanced Demolition Operative ((ADO) previously known as Topman) and/or have 5 years Demolition Industry experience.

Q: Do I need anything prior to attending this course?
A: Yes. You need to hold a current Demolition Specialist or above or a Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Touchscreen Test Pass. You also must hold a current Asbestos Awareness Certificate (as a minimum). Other higher level Asbestos Training will be accepted. You can only obtain your Asbestos Awareness Certificate through NDTG, UKATA, ARCA, or ACAD. E-Learning Certificates are not accepted.

Q: Do I get a certificate or card for completing this course?
A: Yes, the CCDO Demolition Chargehand card valid for 3 years. This card is non renewable. You must complete an NVQ level 3 within 3 years to convert your red Chargehand card to the silver Chargehand card.

Q: What do I need do to acheieve my NVQ?
A: You must complete a Level 3 Demolition Chargehand NVQ. Once you have obtained this, you can upgrade to a CCDO Demolition Chargehand silver card, which is valid for 5 years and is renewable.

Q: Is this a certified course?
A: Yes. PERSES are certified to deliver on behalf of the National Demolition Training Group (NDTG).
